Tahoe author talks oil and vinegar
Author and Tahoe resident Cal Orey will be in the library reading room on the Lake Tahoe Community College campus at noon Saturday, May 10, to discuss her books "The Healing Powers of Olive Oil" and "The Healing Powers of Vinegar."

Today, health-conscious consumers purchase olive oil and vinegar for a variety of health reasons. "The Healing Powers of Olive Oil" shows how an olive oil-based diet can boost longevity, relieve arthritis aches and prevent heart disease. "The Healing Powers of Vinegar" shows how curative powers can help prevent cancer, bone loss and unwanted weight.

Orey also will share tips on how vinegars and olive oil can help detox the kitchen, clean the bathroom and tend to messes both kids and pets make.

"All-natural vinegar and olive oil are touted to pamper both women and men (of all ages) from head to toe," Orey said.

As a bonus, Nick Sciabica & Sons are providing olive oils and homemade biscotti from Gemma Sciabica. Other treats made with olive oil will be available.
