A series of weak upper level disturbances tracking across Northern California about every other day will keep the Tahoe area under a marginally unstable air mass. Daytime heating will trigger afternoon clouds as temperatures climb into the mid 60s around the lake.

Southwest winds are forecast to pick up to around 15 to 25 mph in the late afternoon. Lows tonight are expected to drop into the lower to mid 30s at lake level under cloudy skies.

Look for partly cloudy skies on Friday with a little cooler temperatures as another weak upper level trough passes across the area in the morning hours. Highs Friday are projected to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s around the lake. Southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph are forecast to shift to the northwest in the afternoon.
