Barton offering free checkups Friday

In honor of Melanoma & Skin Cancer Detection Awareness Month, Barton Memorial Hospital will hold its free quarterly health checkup.

The checkup includes skin-cancer screenings, evaluation of varicose and spider veins, body-composition determination, an orthopedic screening and a physical therapy screening. There also will be a sign-up booth for a $45 electrocardiogram, which is an electrical reading of the heart and is used in the investigation of heart disease.

The health checks will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Barton University, 1111 Emerald Bay Road. Appointments are required. Register online at bartonhealth.org or call (530) 543-5537.
