Suzanne Roberts of South Lake Tahoe, author of "Shameless" and "Nothing to You," and June Sylvester Saraceno of Truckee, author of "Altars of Ordinary Light," will give a poetry reading and book signing at 7:30 p.m. May 22 in Valhalla's Grand Hall.
A wine reception will follow with appetizers and wine available by the glass by donation. All donations as well as a portion of book sales will benefit the U.S. Forest Service. This event is free and open to the community.

Roberts, a doctoral student in literature and the environment at the University of Nevada, Reno, teaches English at Lake Tahoe Community College, where she runs a successful visiting writers series.
Saraceno is English program chairwoman at Sierra Nevada College and founding editor of the Sierra Nevada College Review.
